Empowering Higher Education
with Green Competences

GREENVERSITY is a three-year project dedicated to integrating the European Green Competence Framework (GreenComp) into higher education. Our mission is to empower universities, educators and students with the essential skills and knowledge to lead sustainable transformations in society. By developing a structured framework to implement the GreenComp with training programmes and engaging student initiatives, GREENVERSITY aims to make green skills a core part of higher education across Europe.

What is the GreenComp?

The GreenComp, or Green Competence Framework, equips individuals with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to live sustainably. This framework aligns with the EU’s green skills agenda, fostering critical thinking, eco-responsibility, and proactive engagement with environmental challenges across all learning levels. It focuses on four key areas with twelve competencies total:

Embodying Sustainability Values

Embracing Complexity in Sustainability

Envisioning Sustainable Futures

Acting for Sustainability
